Reconfiguring Accounts:
Be sure to have the 'Advanced' tab selected for this help.
This tab contains information about how to deal with odd ISP setups.(We're rather standard):
- "Outgoing mail (SMTP):" - Set this to 587. Do not use the default of 25!
- "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" - This should be unchecked. We do not use SSL. If set you will get a cryptic error message when sending out mail.
- "Incoming mail (POP3)/(IMAP):" - This must be 110 for POP3, and 143 for IMAP. Do NOT change from these values.
- "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" - This should be unchecked. We do not use SSL. If set you will get a cryptic error message when trying to receive mail.
- "Server Timeouts" - Adjust to your needs. Rarely needed. Reasonable values start at 1 minute. If you get a timeout message and you can still browse the internet, then you've got this setting too short.
- "Break apart messages larger than" - Adjust to your needs. Rarely needed. The Maximum sending size of an E-mail at DNX is 10Mg. This usually means half that size. Don't ask us to change our limit. If you need to send something over 10Mg, then you should be using FTP not E-mail.
Click on 'OK' to save your settings, select another tab, cancel to abort.
